Advantages of Degesch Plates for pest control
Degesch Plates for Pest Control
Have you ever wondered what goes into a fumigation process? While various formats suited to the food industry exist depending on specific needs, Degesch Plates stand out as a particularly effective solution. They are ideal not only for their versatility regarding the types of goods that can be fumigated but also for their effectiveness in avoiding the risk of residue contamination.
What Are Degesch Plates Made Of?
The main ingredient is magnesium phosphide, which is embedded in a semi-rigid plastic matrix covered with moisture-permeable paper. When this product comes into contact with ambient moisture or moisture from the goods (H2O), it releases hydrogen phosphide, commonly known as phosphine.
Phosphine targets insects directly at any stage of development; as a gas with excellent diffusion properties, it penetrates complex packaging without altering the organoleptic characteristics of the goods.
What are some of the advantages?
- Does not contaminate the treated goods.
- Does not alter the organoleptic properties of the fumigated products (color, taste, aroma).
- Leaves no residual dust, eliminating risks to operators.
- Easy, safe, and cost-effective application.
- Controls all insect life stages due to complete penetration of the goods.
- Faster gas release from magnesium phosphide compared to aluminum phosphide-based fumigants.
- Effective even at low ambient temperatures (down to 5ºC).
- Easy and convenient removal after fumigation.
- Does not deplete the ozone layer and is not a greenhouse gas.
- High-quality, technologically advanced product for fumigating delicate stored goods such as tobacco, spices, dried fruits, animal feed, and flour, among others.
- Ready for use with the Axelerator application system.
